Build positive relationships with the parents at your school by sending home a special behavior postcard. Watch for good student choices in your classroom and send a note home to parents.
Positive communication is so important. It can be very easy to get into the habit of only contacting parents to discuss negative behaviour at school, so you can use these postcards to send a positive postcard home as often as you like!
Example Postcards:
* Just a quick note to say, your child was a good listener at school today!
* Just a quick note to say, your child made a new friend at school today!
* Just a quick note to say, your child was a responsible learner at school today!
* Just a quick note to say, your child was ready for learning at school today!
I would suggest keeping a stash in your desk and either sending one home every day or a handful at the end of the week. You might also like to keep track of who you have sent postcards home to and what for so that none of your students miss out. I’ve included a brief checklist in the document so that you can tick each student off.
Simply print the postcards onto thick cardboard, cut them out and write a brief message on the back. I can guarantee your parents and students will love taking these home!
You could even post a few in the mail for an added element of surprise.
The packet includes 20 different postcards at this stage. There are 4 postcards per page of the same design.
26/01/2015 – Edited to add JPEG files and a blank postcard template.
This is a ZIP file which must be opened on a desktop computer – not a mobile device.
Happy playful learning!
