Dramatic play is one of my favourite ways to play right now! We recently set up this gorgeous Sushi Shop dramatic play space at home and it was SO popular with my little learners. Today I wanted to pop in and share some pictures. You’ll also be able to grab a copy of all the signs and labels for FREE!
I’m a bit of a fan of Kmart here in Australia. They’ve been releasing some amazing wooden toys this year. They recently released the sweetest little set of wooden Sushi rolls which I just knew I needed. That’s when the idea of setting up a Sushi Shop was born!
We went to Kmart and grabbed two sets of the Wooden Sushi. If you’re not in Australia, Melissa and Doug also do a gorgeous Sushi set that I kind of really want as well hehe. I added some of our plastic plates and bowls, some chopsticks, tongs and sauce bottles. We also made some wasabi with some green crepe paper!
We set up our little Sushi Shop on our DIY market stand! You can read all about it over in this post, but we basically used four crates from ikea, some dowel and some treated pine from Bunnings.
Inside this FREE packet of printables, you’ll find all the signs and labels pictured below. There’s also forms for your little learners to fill in as they make their orders and labels for all the materials and tools your little Sushi Chef will need in their kitchen and shop.
