School is back for Term 3 and I’m missing teaching more than ever! I know there is no way that I’m ready to return back to my own class…I would miss my 14 month old way too much. With that being said, I’m going to pretend I have my own class and start creating more resources for my TpT store and blogging about lots of fun things for your little learners, whether they’re at home with you or in your classroom at school.
I’ve had this little product half finished for quite some time so I finally sat down and put the finishing touches on it this week. I am absolutely thrilled with how it came together. This Beginning Sound Picture Sort packet is perfect activity for reviewing beginning sounds.
Students can colour the pictures, cut them out and then glue them under the correct letter. I’ve also tried to pair up letters and sounds that are often confused either by sound or appearance. For example, my students often mixed up P and B. I’ve also included a recording sheet so that your students can sound out the pictures they have sorted. Please excuse my incredibly messy writing haha!
There are 16 different sheets included in the packet for sorting: e and i, a and u, o and e, a and d, p and b, w and m, s and c, f and k, g and j, h and r, l and t, n and u, o and q, i and v, x and k (x is ending sound), y and z.
These picture sorts would be great for both whole class and independent phonics work in literacy groups or rotations. The Beginning Sound Picture Sorts packet includes all Australian State Fonts and a standard elementary font. Grab a copy here!
