Now that I’m a stay at home mum, I sometimes wonder about what types of products I might create. As some of you know, my mum is a teacher too (check out her website, My Teaching Cupboard) so she often gives me ideas for new products when she talks about what she’s up to in her classroom. She asked me to create some A4 alphabet posters featuring both short and long vowel sounds that she could blow up for her classroom, so these chevron alphabet charts were born!
The set includes 31 individual A4 sized alphabet charts for each letter of the alphabet (two for each vowel with the short and long sound) ready for you to display in your classroom or home. I also included the A4 printout which my mum will blow up to A2 size. You could also use this in your writing centre during Work on Writing (Daily 5).
I have printed these posters in A5 size and displayed them in my office for my 9 month old. I know, I know, I’m starting very early but there’s no harm in having a literacy rich environment from the get go.
