Today I’d like to share a beautiful ocean themed small world that my husband set up for our 2.5 year old! We recently got home from a wonderful week-long road trip down to Sydney and back to Brisbane. During our trip, we stopped and explored at many different beaches, but our favourite was at Coff’s Harbour. On our final afternoon, our toddler collected lots of coral, pebbles and other loose parts on the beach. We popped them in a bucket and brought them home, knowing they’d be great for some imaginative play!
Sight Word Fishing Tub
I’m always on the lookout for engaging, hands on ways to learn sight words. One of the favourite activities in my Prep classroom was always sight word fishing!
Guided Drawing and Creative Writing Lesson
As some of you may know, I taught Prep for two years with my very own class and absolutely loved it! That is until I fell pregnant and my contract wasn’t renewed (is that even allowed?!) so I started some relief work in 2014. I was offered a two week contract in Year 1 at the most beautiful little country school. By the time I had finished the contract, I decided that Year 1 was my new favourite year to teach EVER!
Under the Sea Sensory Play Tub
As you know, I am a big fan of sensory play. But sometimes, my Little Learner still mouths things. I try to come up with ideas that suit her during this mouthing phase and came up with this fun tub. The best part is that it’s edible! If your little one loves tasting things, this will definitely be a new favourite!
